PREVENTIVE YOUTH WORK PROGRAM
Is to empower and assist school drop outs, drug addicts and the unemployed to gain employable skills through training in order help reduce social decadence in the communities.
The project was expected to benefit about one hundred and fifty youth in Accra, has now since in rollout demonstrated potential and ability to deliver productivity to the lives of youths and other individuals in communities. The initiative which is currently ongoing is directed to impact positively in curbing steeling, armed robbery, drug abuse and other social vices, which is mainly orchestrated by young people and youths between the ages of 19 and 27 years.
Solid Rock Association has recently launched and, currently implementing a skills training module staged at its Center called (TRAIN PIONT MODULE), to engage delinquent young people and youths in the Ashiedu Keteke sub-metro in Accra-Ghana, with employable skills in the production of Batiks ‘tie and die’ cloth, Wood Carving, Cultural Drumming and Dancing is of the view of preparing them for future engagement in cultural festival events.
An Information Communication Technology (ICT) and Counseling component has also been added, based on research recommendation gathered during Solid Rock Association initial interactions and consultation with participants– young people, youths and community stakeholders in order to compliment their expressed wants from the program.
The ongoing Youth Preventive Work- Train Point Module has established a Certificate for Participation initiative, as an incentive to, enhance, motivation and, promote the authenticity and productive significance and purpose it is serving to several.
The Certificate for Participation initiative is inclusive as one the other innovation introduced during the initial project implementation stages by the consultative directive of the Board of Directors of Solid Rock Association done with considerations of recommendations of participants and beneficiaries young people and youths.
A Certificate(s) for Participation received at completion of each training program- will give to all participant of the Youth Preventive Work- Train Point Module, an attestation the exhibits the practical knowledge and skills they are acquiring.
The Certificates will board the official logo and details of Foreningen Roskilde Charity Society-Demark, the current project supporter and Solid Rock Association-a cooperating collection of the Foundation Center, USA in Ghana.
The Youth Preventive Work- Train Point Module program, is currently embarking on actions to help assist young people, the youth and communities from, indulging themselves in social vices thereby, contributing significantly to the mission of supporting initiatives, of preventive youth skills for young people- proactive alternative to effectively channel the energies and creative potentials among young people and youths.
The Train Point Module is at date also, providing young people and the youth access to prompt preparation to enabling them to build- the self and, create an attitude to be prepared and be ready to take advantage of the opportunities for developing their employable skills.
The Youth Preventive Work-Train Point Module has identified some patronage and increasing participation into the program, and is currently also supporting and promoting self-worth, self-responsibility and self-initiative among young people and youth participants and beneficiaries in Ashiedu Keteke sub-metro of Accra-Ghana.
The initiative anticipates that it has open the productive alternative door to learning and information sharing to the underserved, the deprived and, delinquent members of society through the project’s outlined skills and capacity building programs.
